Important information about the update service for current "CONNECT Player" software.

Dear Customers

We'd like to inform you that the update service for the "CONNECT Player" music management software bundled with NWA1000/A3000/A608 Walkman digital music players will cease at the end of November 2007.

Customers who are using the above mentioned models of Walkman digital music players with the "CONNECT Player" software are invited to convert to "Sonic Stage CP" music management software. Please access the following URL to review the process to convert from "CONNECT Player" software to "Sonic Stage CP" software.

Exporting your music library from "CONNECT Player" software to "Sonicstage CP" software

*This procedure only applies to customers using Walkman digital music player model numbers NWA608 / A1000 / A3000 with the "CONNECT Player" music management software.

Preparation

STEP 1)

Check the version number of the "CONNECT Player" software you are using. The conversion process outlined requires Ver.1.0.04. If this is not the version you are using, please go to "Help" on the toolbar -> select "Check for Updates" to update your current version before proceeding.

STEP 2)

Install the latest version of SonicStage CP software from the link below

STEP 3)

Initialize the device (Walkman NWA608 / A1000 / A3000)

*All content on your Walkman NWA608/1000/3000 will be deleted during the initialization process. Back up content to your PC before you initialize the device, if necessary.

How to Initialize Walkman digital music player

(Option 1: using "CONNECT Player" software)

1. Connect Walkman to PC

2. Launch "CONNECT Player" software -> go to [Tool] -> [Preference] -> [Advanced] -> [Format Device…] -> click [OK] to start initialization of the device.

(Option 2: Without using PC)

(NWA608)

1. Press and hold the SEARCH/MENU button on Walkman device in stop mode until the Setting menu appears.

2. Rotate the Shuttle switch to select "Advanced Menu >"and press the button to confirm.

3. Rotate the Shuttle switch to select "Format >"and press the button to confirm.

4. Rotate the Shuttle switch to select "OK >"and press the button to confirm.

"Formatting..." appears and formatting starts.

(NW-A1000 / A3000)

1. Press and hold BACK button on Walkman until HOME menu appears.

2. Select (Settings), and then press to show the list of setup options.

3. Press / to find "Initialize Disk" -> press to select -> press / to select "Yes" -> press to select -> press / to re-select "Yes" -> press to confirm and start initializing device.

Exporting music library

After you complete the preparation process outlined above, please follow the steps below to transfer your music library from the "CONNECT Player" software to "Sonicstage CP" software.

1. Download the export help tool from link below.

2. Once download of help tool is completed, execute a file.

-> Dialog box below appears -> Click [Next] -> [OK]

3. Click both [Open folder] and [Start SonicStage] to open windows.

4. Transfer all M3U files from "CONNECT Player" folder window to "SonicStage" library using Drag and Drop. Once transfer of all files is complete, close both windows.

5. Click [Finish] to complete the transfer.

6. Launch "Sonicstage" software -> [Tools] -> [Get CD information Automatically] to get artist/music track information.

Q. Do you plan to release a new version of "CONNECT Player" software ?

A. No, we don't.

Q. Do I have to stop using "CONNECT Player" software?

A. No, you can continue to use "CONNECT Player" software, however the auto update function will no longer apply.

Q. Are there any problems when converting to "Sonic Stage CP" software ?

A. To date, we have not experienced any difficulty with the procedure posted in July of 2006 for conversion from "CONNECT Player" software to "Sonic Stage CP" software.
