SONY CANADA TO SUPPORT EARTH HOUR THIS SATURDAY
Corporate buildings and Sony Style® retail locations to observe Earth Hour
TORONTO, ON, March 27, 2009 – As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, Sony of Canada Ltd. will be participating in Earth Hour 2009, by reducing lighting at corporate buildings across the country, turning off the Sony sign that overlooks the Gardiner Expressway in downtown Toronto, and turning off products and displays at Sony Style® retail locations across Canada. This is the second year that Sony Canada is taking part in Earth Hour.
On Saturday, March 29, 2009 between 8:30pm and 9:30pm local time, all open Sony Style retail locations will still remain operational, providing full service to customers. Sony Style retail locations across Canada will be doing the following to observe Earth Hour:
· Reducing lighting on all Sony Style exterior signs where possible.
· Turning off all products and displays in stores including televisions, stereos and computers.
Sony Canada's commitment to environmental sustainability includes the operation of recycling programs through its Sony Style retail locations, as well as a network of non-retail collection sites across Canada. In partnership with GEEP Inc., Sony Canada's award-winning recycling program enables customers to drop off any old Sony branded product free of charge for responsible end-of-life management.
