SONY INTRODUCES MONITORING SOFTWARE FOR NETWORKED AND WIRELESS LCD BUSINESS PROJECTORS

TORONTO, Ontario -- Sony of Canada Ltd., Canada's leading electronic and computer products solutions provider for consumers and business, today announced its new new PJNet!™ software, which allows users to remotely monitor, troubleshoot and control up to 255 networked Sony LCD (liquid crystal display) projectors, including select wireless models.

The software, a $500 value, can be downloaded at no charge from www.sony.com/projectors.

"PJNet! software is designed for organizations that have multiple projectors installed across several locations and want to centralize their Information Technology and audio-visual support resources," said David Schultz, Product Manager, Projectors, Broadcast Communication Solutions Group, Sony of Canada Ltd. "Companies can lower maintenance costs, reduce projector downtime and increase productivity by remotely monitoring and diagnosing projector issues. PJNet! software can then simply send a notification about the issue to the appropriate person."

The software can be set-up to alert network administrators when filters need to be cleaned or when lamp hours are approaching maximum usage limits, which can help increase a projector's longevity. Projectors can be scheduled to automatically turn on and off, and administrators can remotely fix problems such as input connectivity or inverted images without having to send a technician in person.

PJNet! software also offers increased security. If a projector becomes disconnected from the network, the software will send an e-mail or page to security, indicating the model number, location and time of occurrence.

The software is compatible with Windows® systems and most Internet browsers. Sony's PJNet! software supports the following Sony network LCD projectors:

•VPL-PX15;
•VPL-PX35;
•VPL-PX40;
•VPL-FX50;
•VPL-FX51;
•VPL-PX41;
•VPL-FX52; and
•VPL-FX52L.

Sony's VPL-CX76 and VPL-CX86 wireless LCD projectors are also supported.
