TORONTO, Ontario – Sony of Canada Ltd., Canada's leading electronic and computer products solutions provider for consumers and business, today unveiled the consumer electronics industry's first Full High-Definition 1080 end-to-end solution, enabling consumers to capture, edit and play HD content.
Anchored by Sony's award-winning and marketshare-leading Grand WEGA SXRD rear-projection LCD (liquid crystal display) and BRAVIA XBR flat-panel LCD televisions, Sony's Full HD 1080 solution consists of the following fully-compatible products, which have been specifically designed and engineered to work together: the segment-leading HD Handycam camcorder, offering the consumer electronic industry's widest variety of HD media format choices – tape, disc or hard drive; the style-leading VAIO AR-190 notebook personal computer, the information technology industry's first PC to feature a built-in Blu-ray disc burner/player; Vegas software, the award-winning audio and video editing application; and the technology-leading Blu-ray Disc BDP-S1 player, a Blu Laser-based product that enables the playing of Full HD 1080 video content, including the latest Hollywood movie titles and Blu-ray disk media, which stores more than four times more content than DVD media.
